ABOUT MARCY WEYDEMULLER

“The Lord is my light….” Psalm 27:1 (NRSV)

A graduate of Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, with a B.A. in History/Sociology, Marcy’s writing experience has grown from her reading and teaching. As a small group leader, Marcy first began writing Bible studies for adults followed by curriculum for the children’s vacation church school. She now has over twenty-five years experience writing and teaching Bible studies to all ages.

As her three children grew, she made time to take writing classes and attend conferences, such as Mt. In addition she has published short stories, devotions, and poetry in several magazines.

In 2001 she completed an MFA in Writing at Vermont College of Norwich University. Her coursework included independent study in writing for children with critical reading focusing on young adult fiction with an emphasis on fantasy, middle-grade literature, and literary criticism. She wrote a YA fantasy novel and a YA book of poetry for her creative thesis, of which Summer Sketches is a part. Excerpts are available at www.sowinglightseeds.com.

She taught freshman composition at the college level for five years and a variety of creative writing classes for four years with an adult education program. She led a writing critique group for fourteen years, including workshops. She teaches online workshops for Romance Writers of America and Savvy Authors.com.
